A Research Project was undertaken in Australia by Jennifer Joi Field to investigate the value of cultural mapping processes, to identify the benefits and issue’s of cultural mapping projects when they were undertaken in partnership between Indigenous communities and either Government Departments, Universities or Business entrepreneurs.
The findings indicated that there is a missing link that causes cultural mapping or knowledge mapping projects to be unsustainable and to also provide no sustainable benefits for all stakeholders. The Map You Courses were developed to provide a systemic approach that does address this missing link to insure the outcomes are sustainable and that they also benefit everyone. COMING SOON a new website dedicated to the doctoral research project Mapping for Sustainable Futures. The research will also provide industries, such as the natural resource industry, with insight into reasons for their labour skills shortages.
